Easy & Delish Halloween Cocktails
Let’s get spooky! Wow the witches, skeletons, and mummies at your Halloween party with our favorite Halloween cocktails and mocktails.
For most of us, Halloween is synonymous with sweet things. (The amount of sugar we’ve consumed on Halloween’s past is enough to power a rocketship.) These days, we’re less interested in sweet cocktails and more interested in flavor, complexity, and balance. If you’re on the same page, these Halloween cocktails are right up your alley. You won’t find crazy gimmicks here (read: dry ice in a glass you’re drinking out of is sketchy), instead we’re focusing on great things we’d actually want to drink. Hello, Cinnamon Orange Old Fashioned— we see you!
CINNAMON ORANGE OLD FASHIONED RECIPE
The Cinnamon Orange Old Fashioned is one of our favorite Halloween Cocktails! This beautiful orange color is on-brand for Halloween and isn’t overpowered by sickly-sweetness or artificial ingredients. It’s so nice you’ll want it all fall.
Cocktail Recipe (yields one drink)
1.5oz Breckenridge Bourbon
1oz Fresh Orange
.5oz Fresh Lemon
.5oz Simple Syrup
dash Cinnamon
2 dash Orange Bitters
1 Cinnamon Stick
Method
To prepare, fresh-squeeze orange and lemon, make simple syrup. You can find a simple recipe at the bottom of this post. Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled. Strain into coupe glass and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
Mocktail Recipe (yields one drink)
Substitute sparkling water for bourbon, but don’t add into the cocktail shaker. Instead, add soda water into the glass and top with contents of shaker.
FADE TO BLACK MARGARITA RECIPE
Fade to Black is a riff on the classic margarita, using activated charcoal to achieve a spooky black color for the perfect Halloween cocktail. This recipe uses Cocktail Caravan’s Cocktail Mixer, which is a blend of fresh-pressed citrus, a dash of simple, and a drop of activated charcoal. Optional: Tajin
Run a lime wheel around the rim of a glass and dip the rim in Tajin (optional). Add all items to a cocktail shaker, shake until chilled. Pour over fresh ice and garnish with a lime.
